Lieut.-Colonel ARTHUR MURRAY:

30.

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is yet in a position to announce the name of the successor to the Earl of Reading as His Majesty's Ambassador to the United States of America?

Mr. HARMSWORTH:

I regret that I am still not in a position to add anything to my replies to previous questions put to me on this subject by my hon. and gallant Friend.

Lieut.-Colonel MURRAY:

Will the hon. Gentleman report to the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State the great harm that is being done to British interests in America by this long delay in giving the name, and can he say when a decision will be arrived at?
