To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, how many (a) direct employees, (b) agency staff and (c) outsourced staff working for his Department and its subsidiary agencies are paid less than the living wage.

No direct employees of HM Treasury and its agencies, are paid less than the rate defined by the Living Wage Foundation as a living wage.

The Government awards contracts on the basis of the best value for money for taxpayers.

HM Treasury does not hold information on wages paid by our suppliers.
