To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what quantity of spirits produced in the UK was exported in 2013.

HM Revenue & Customs is responsible for the collection of data on UK imports and exports. From the collected trade data however, we cannot identify exports of UK produced spirits.

The quantity of spirits exported from the UK in 2013 is:

1) Spirits defined as HS2208 (undenatured ethyl alcohol <80%vol; spirits; liqueurs and other spirituous beverages), excluding HS2208 70 (Liqueurs and cordials) and CN2208 90 91 and CN 2208 90 99 (undenatured ethyl alcohol <80%vol)

2) Trade is presented on a General Trade basis

3) EU Trade includes Below Threshold Trade Allocations (BTTAs)
