To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment he has made of the implications for his policies of the European Commission's draft Regulation supplementing Regulation (EC) No 1071/2009 with regard to the classification of serious infringements of the Union rules, which may lead to the loss of good repute by the road transport operator; and what his policy is on the proposals in that draft Regulation.

The adoption of this measure is an existing obligation under 1071/2009. The effect for the UK will be low as existing monitoring of operators by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) already takes into account frequency of minor offences when recommending if the competent authority should commence an action regarding the repute of an operator. The UK is content with the regulation but has questioned the practicality of the implementation date of January 2016.
