To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what recent discussions (a) he and (b) his Department has had with organisations, businesses and charities from the west midlands on youth unemployment in that region.
Treasury Ministers and officials have meetings and discussions with a wide variety of authorities as part of the process of policy development and delivery. As was the case with previous Administrations, it is not the Government's practice to provide details of all such meetings and discussions.
Announced at the Autumn Statement 2011, the £1 billion Youth Contract went live in April 2012 and will support up to 500,000 young people into employment and education opportunities.
