Communities and Local Government written question – answered at on 19 December 2012.
To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government when his Department last assessed (a) the utility and (b) the value of psychometric testing in its recruitment and selection of candidates for public appointments on advisory boards.
Based on our central records, my Department has not used psychometric testing in its recruitment and selection of candidates in any of its recent public appointments to advisory boards. All recruitment and selection to our non-departmental public bodies is conducted within the principles set out by the Commissioner for Public Appointments, i.e. that the appointment procedures adopted should be proportionate to the size and purpose of the public body in question and the post (s) to be filled.
