To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions how many deaths have occurred on farms in England and Wales in each of the last three years; and what the causes were of such deaths.
The Health and Safety Executive holds details of fatal injuries to workers and members of the public on farms reported to it under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR).
Details of the number of deaths involving workers and members of the public in agriculture (which includes crop and animal production, hunting and related service activities) in England and Wales in each of the last three years and the primary causes of those deaths are set out as follows:
