To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many and what proportion of written parliamentary questions to his Department received holding responses in the last 12 months for which figures are available.
A holding response is sent to a named day parliamentary question when it is not possible to answer on the day specified by the MP. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office received 358 named day parliamentary questions between
The Government have committed to providing the Procedure Committee with information relating to written parliamentary question performance on a sessional basis and will provide full information to the committee at the end of the current session.
