To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Howell of Guildford on 4 July (WA 169), whether British diplomatic staff in Egypt include any of the Coptic faith.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) follows Civil Service best practice guidance in monitoring equality and diversity in our workforce. There is no obligation on staff to provide information on their religious practice, and the diversity data collected for those declaring themselves as Christians only distinguish between Christian Catholic, Christian Other and Christian Protestant. We therefore do not hold information on the number of British diplomatic staff in Egypt who practise the Coptic faith.
