The National Health Service (Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations 2005 (as amended) were replaced by the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations 2012 on 1 September 2012. It is our policy to enable patients to benefit wherever feasible from the professional services of both general practitioners and pharmacists. Doctors may exceptionally provide NHS dispensing services to patients who live in designated rural areas and are subject to specific conditions set out in the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations 2012.
