To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions pursuant to the answer of 14 June 2012, Official Report, column 531W, on working conditions, for what reasons the number of Health and Safety investigations into excessive heat in the workplace decreased between 2007-08 and 2010-11.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is committed to investigating incidents involving serious injury and ill health or where there are serious breaches of the law. HSE select incidents for investigation using its published Incident Selection Criteria, and the number of incidents investigated involving excessive heat will vary from year-to-year.
