To ask the Secretary of State for Health what progress the NHS is making in improving outcomes for patients; and if he will make a statement.

Since last December, we have published data against 34 indicators in the NHS Outcomes Framework. Where trend data are available, the majority of indicators suggest performance has been maintained or improved. This includes MRSA infections down by 25% and C difficile infections down by 17% in 2011-12 compared with 2010-11.
