My Department does not collect this information, but the Isle of Wight council advises that in the 12 months from 1 June 2011 a roof mounted micro wind turbine was approved. In the same period an application for three turbines was dismissed following a planning appeal. For England, for the same period, DECC’s Renewable Energy Planning Database recorded 36 approvals and 37 refusals but this does not record applications for small scale microgeneration.
