Leader of the House written question – answered at on 14 June 2012.
To ask the Leader of the House what the reasons were for reducing the allocation of oral questions to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; and if he will reconsider that decision.
In April 2011, following a request from the Official Opposition, the Government increased the time allocated for oral questions to the Deputy Prime Minister. As a consequence of this change it was necessary for other changes to be made to the oral questions rota, including reducing the allocation of oral questions to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
While the status of the oral questions rota is kept under review, I have no current plans to increase the amount of time allocated to Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs oral questions.
