The total cost of providing an online calculator is estimated at £250,000, and the cost of sending a letter to taxpayers with income over £50,000 is estimated at £1 million. These costs are included in the cost estimates provided in the tax information and impact note (TIIN) which was published on HMRC’s website at:

www.hmrc.gov.uk

An estimate has not been made of the cost of providing guidance because it is included in HMRC’s resource baseline.
