To ask the Deputy Prime Minister whether he plans to bring forward further proposals for the regulation of political lobbyists in the next two years.

The Government's consultation on ‘Introducing a Statutory Register of Lobbyists’ closed on 20 April 2012. The Government received a wide range of responses and will publish its formal response—providing a summary of responses received and setting out the next steps—before the House rises for summer recess.

This will then be followed by a White Paper and draft legislation which sets out the Government's detailed proposals, later in the Session.
