The Ministry of Defence did not order any equipment as part of the investigations into the conversion of the operational Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier. The investigations focused on the development of a new Carrier Variant-based ship design, a revised build strategy and development of both in-build and refit conversion options. This work was undertaken by the Aircraft Carrier Alliance and Naval Design Partnership in the UK, supported by the US Department of Defence.
