Alcoholic Drinks: Minimum Prices

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment she has made of the effect on profits in the groceries industry of introducing a minimum unit price for alcohol of (a) 40 pence and (b) 50 pence per unit.

In the forthcoming months the Government will produce an impact assessment that will consider the potential impacts of minimum unit pricing. We will consult on the level in the forthcoming months.
