To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport what measures his Department introduced to reduce its carbon emissions in (a) 2010, (b) 2011 and (c) 2012.

In 2010, 2011 and 2012 the Department introduced the following measures to reduce its carbon emissions:
2010
Reduced running times of fan coil units
Lighting adjustments
Sequencing of the boiler and chiller
Reduced cooling in the data centre
Virtualisation of the data centre
2011
Re-timing of building plant to reduce operational running times
2012
Continuation of strategy to ensure building plant runs at its maximum energy efficiency.
