To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills what discussions he has had with (a) banks and (b) the research councils on postgraduate funding since May 2010.

Since May 2010, I have had no meetings with banks to specifically discuss postgraduate funding. I regularly meet with the research councils to discuss a wide range of issues including all aspects of research funding.
