To ask the Secretary of State for Justice whether his Department is considering bringing forward proposals to introduce a charge to obtain information under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The operation and effectiveness of the Freedom of Information Act is currently subject to post legislative scrutiny by the Justice Select Committee. The Government will consider the recommendations of the Committee before bringing forward any proposals for future policy on Freedom of Information.
