To ask Her Majesty's Government whether there is any audit process to ensure that the BBC is politically neutral.

Under the terms of the BBC agreement, the BBC must do all it can to ensure that controversial subjects are treated with due accuracy and impartiality in all relevant output. The BBC is accountable to the BBC Trust on these matters. The BBC is operationally and editorially independent of Government and there is no provision for Government to intervene in the BBC's day-to-day activities.

The BBC Trust regularly commissions and publishes independent reports on impartiality of the BBC's coverage.
