Heart Diseases: Children
Health

Andrew Smith (Oxford East, Labour)
To ask the Secretary of State for Health what recent progress he has made in determining the future for centres for children's heart surgery.

Simon Burns (Minister of State (Health), Health; Chelmsford, Conservative)
The review of children's congenital heart services is a clinically led national health service review, independent of Government. The Joint Committee of Primary Care Trusts, on behalf of local NHS commissioners, will decide the future pattern of children's congenital heart services in England. It is expected to make that decision later this year.
