To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change how many planning applications for wind turbines were (a) approved and (b) rejected in Lancashire in each of the last five years.

In Lancashire between 2007 and 2011, seven planning applications for onshore wind turbines were approved by the relevant local planning authority (42 MW); two further applications were approved on appeal having been initially refused (43 MW); and two were refused (54 MW), including one on appeal (50 MW).
