To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what estimate his Department has made of the cost of collecting a £20 application fee to access the future statutory maintenance system in (a) the current spending review period until 2014-15 and (b) the following spending review period.

The application fee is payable upfront before an application proceeds and is collected as part of the application process. The incremental costs are expected to be negligible.
