To ask Her Majesty's Government how many pardons for criminal offences have been granted since 1982; what were the categories of offences for which pardons were granted; and how pardons were distributed in each category.

Since 1982 there have been a total of 698 pardons granted. Details of the numbers granted each year are given below. We do not hold detailed information about the categories of offences for which pardons were granted, and this could only be collected at disproportionate cost.
