To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer pursuant to the answer of 19 January 2012, Official Report, columns 946-9W, on financial services: EU law,
(1) what communications he has received from industry on the revision of the directive on investor compensation schemes proposed by the European Commission in (a) November and (b) December 2011;
(2) whether he has discussed with his EU colleagues the revision of the directive on investor compensation schemes proposed by the European Commission.
Ministers and officials, as part of the process of policy development and delivery, have meetings with and receive representations from many European and international counterparts, and a wide variety of organisations and individuals in the public and private sector. As was the case with previous Administrations, it is not the Government's practice to provide details of all such meetings and representations.
