To ask Her Majesty's Government when the penalty for the offence of riding a bicycle on the pavement was last increased.

Earl Attlee (Whip, House of Lords; Conservative)
Cycling on the footway became a fixed penalty offence in 1999. The fixed penalty was increased to the current level of £30 in 2000.
If pursued through the courts the current maximum fine is £500.
