To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what the average backdated claim was which was awarded in disability living allowance appeals in the latest period for which figures are available; and if he will make a statement.

We are unable to provide a response on the average backdated claim awarded in disability living allowance appeals because the information requested is not routinely reported and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost to the Department.
