To ask the Secretary of State for Transport whether her Department has assessed the environment impact of aeroplanes circling Heathrow while awaiting a landing slot.

The Government have not undertaken any such assessment, but we support the Civil Aviation Authority's Future Airspace Strategy which aims to minimise significantly the need for aircraft to wait before landing at London's major airports.
