To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Earl Attlee on 11 October (WA 231), which key parties, other than the utility and light rail sector, they consult about the use of trams in future and whether the Local Government Association will be consulted.

The Department for Transport is shortly to host a high-level tram summit with the light rail sector, chaired by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, Norman Baker, to discuss and agree a sector-led implementation plan for getting light rail on the right track. Participants will include representatives from local transport authorities that are involved in light rail.
