To ask the Secretary of State for Health what recent assessment his Department has made of the effectiveness of the voluntary industry agreement to place health warnings on the labels of alcoholic drinks.
The most recent assessment of the effectiveness of the voluntary agreement was the second stage of independent monitoring conducted using samples taken in April 2009. The results of this exercise were published, alongside a public consultation on options for improving information on the labels of alcoholic drinks, in February this year and are available at the following web address:
