To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether his Department has commissioned a training programme for clinicians to enhance the quality of discussion with patients on treatments not routinely funded on the NHS, as recommended by his Department's National Cancer Director in his November 2008 report on improving access to medicines for NHS patients.

The Cancer Research UK Sussex Psychosocial Oncology Group has been commissioned to take forward the recommendation, by Professor Mike Richards (National Cancer Director), that the Department should commission a training programme for clinicians to enhance the quality of discussion with patients on treatments not routinely funded on the national health service.
