To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what recent steps he has taken to strengthen mechanisms for the supervision of offenders following their release from prisons in Northern Ireland.

Earlier this year, I announced the introduction of electronic tagging, strengthening the capacity of the criminal justice system to manage offenders in the community. This is working well and has improved the ability of the police and the probation service to monitor those on bail or licence.
