Written answers and statements, 3 November 2009

Tobias Ellwood (- Shadow Minister, Culture, Media and Sport; Bournemouth East, Conservative)
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport whether he plans to promote the Island Games in the Isle of Wight.

Gerry Sutcliffe (Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Sport), Department for Culture, Media and Sport; Bradford South, Labour)
We are delighted that the Isle of Wight has won the right to host the 2011 Island Games. While the primary responsibility for promoting the games lies with the organising committee that has been established, the Department would be happy to meet with them to discuss what assistance it might be able to provide.
