To ask the Minister of State, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills what steps he is taking to encourage trade and investment between the UK and Afghanistan.

UK Trade and Investment has no presence in Afghanistan and does not proactively support UK companies in this market. However, lobbying on behalf of British companies may be carried out on a case-by-case basis by the British embassy in Kabul.
