To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport whether his Department plans to mark the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible in 2011.

The Department is not planning to mark this anniversary. However, the British Library plans to highlight the linguistic contribution of the King James Bible in its exhibition on the English language, scheduled for November 2010 to April 2011 in London. They plan to feature a first edition from 1611 as a star exhibit.
