To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what percentage of employees in his Department are (a) women and (b) men; and what the average hourly pay of his Department's (i) male employees and (ii) female employees was in the latest period for which figures are available.

The following table shows HM Treasury employees' average hourly pay. Figures are based on the numbers of full-time equivalent staff as at 1 April 2009 (the date of the most recent pay review). Employees at HM treasury are paid for 36 hours net per week.
