To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what effect the reduction in the rate of value added tax will have on the level of the Humber Bridge toll in 2009; and if he will make a statement.

The Humber bridge was built under local authority-promoted legislation and is managed by a board made up of local authorities. It is, therefore, exempt from VAT.
