To ask the Prime Minister what (a) primary and (b) delegated legislation regulates machinery of Government changes; what changes have been made to each since enactment; what further amendments are planned; and if he will make a statement.

The main piece of legislation that is relevant to machinery of government changes is the Ministers of the Crown Act 1975, which consolidated the existing legislation in this area.
Since its enactment, the Act has been amended by the Constitutional Reform Act 2005, the Commissioners for Revenue and Customs Act 2005 and the Ministry of Overseas Development (Dissolution) Order 1979 (SI 1979/1451).
