To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government how many non-decent homes there were in (a) Essex and (b) the London borough of Havering in the latest period for which figures are available.

In 2006 local authorities and registered social landlords in Essex reported that they had between them 20,325 non decent homes, out of 86,072 homes.
In the London borough of Havering, registered social landlords and the council reported that they had 3,621 non decent homes out of 13,125 homes.
