To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport how many regional casinos must be licensed in the pilot scheme in order to comply with the EU legislation relating to freedom of enterprise.

The Government are satisfied that the Gambling Act 2005 complies with EU law. The Act provides for three new categories of casinos: one regional casino, eight large and eight small casinos.
