To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport whether her Department has made an assessment of the possible implications for English football of the European Court of Justice judgment in September 2004 on the use of databases.

The professional football leagues report that the European Court of Justice ruling will cost them in excess of £6 million from lost income. The Government are working with the leagues to help them identify sources of replacement funding.
