The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster is responsible for making appointments to five advisory non-departmental public bodies. These are the Advisory Committee on Advertising; the Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information; the Better Regulation Task Force (which becomes the Better Regulation Commission on 1 January 2006); the Civil Service Appeal Board; and, the Security Vetting Appeals Panel.
