Mrs Diana Organ (Forest of Dean, Labour)
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what progress she has made on the review of the Cattle Identification Regulations.

Mr Ben Bradshaw (Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Nature Conservation and Fisheries), Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; Exeter, Labour)
The review of the Cattle Identification Regulations 1998 (as amended) is currently at the planning stage. We are expecting to work with stakeholders on the extent and scope of the review early next year. Depending on the outcome of these discussions, it is expected that the required public consultation will take place in the first half of 2005.
