It is not completely wrong to suggest there is a statistical link between the Govs benefit reforms and the growth, and I would add dependence of people of food banks.
A minimal amount of research within the Govs own statistical units would prove this is fact not opinion or political point scoring- There are people who are really hurting through these cuts. See the Guardian article extract below " The number of emergency food parcels given out has doubled in the past 12 months, and is expected to soar again as welfare reforms such as the bedroom tax and the benefit cap, which will cut the incomes of thousands of the borough's poorest residents, begin to bite."
