If 8 billion and more pounds can so easily be found for the Olympic Games etc, why is there not billions of pounds applied to this drastic problem of flooding and water management, which so much more important than playing around!!?

If such money is provided we need a powerful `Watchdog' to monitor how it is spent and which contractors and councils act honestly and a heavy penalty on those who do not.

Could Mr Robertson put this point to the House?
