The hon. Gentleman suggested that this is an extension, but I am not sure why he thinks that that is the case. It troubles me, and I would be grateful if he would set his case out further. This is not an extension of the definition; we have covered discrimination on the basis of colour for a long time. All four of the limbs—colour, nationality, ethnic and national origin—are there, and always have been. I need to understand what he thinks has been extended, so that I can answer him appropriately.
