According to the “Oxford English Dictionary”, in modern English “eradicate” means to remove or destroy completely. Do you accept that describing the targets in the Bill as relating to the “eradication” of child poverty represents an inappropriate use of the word? Would the term “substantial reduction” be more appropriate?
