When we adjourned, the hon. Member for Bromsgrove, who is not here at the moment, was referring to the advantages of labour market flexibility for women workers. It is true that part-unemployment can be more appropriate for women and, indeed, men with caring responsibilities, but that does not undermine the purpose of the Bill, which is to achieve equality between temporary agency workers and permanent workers. We want to see off the amendment gently and avoid loopholes that could be used to undermine the Bill’s principal purposes.
